How KPS Group Built a High-Performance Poultry Processing Partnership

Six years ago, KPS Group and BAADER launched a long-term partnership at KPS’s Radom facility in east-central Poland. What began as a single project- a full poultry processing line - has grown into a trust-based collaboration, creating measurable value across every stage of production.

Integrated Operations for Maximum Control

KPS Food operates a fully integrated poultry value chain, from large-scale breeding and feed production to modern slaughterhouses and meat-processing plants.

This vertical integration allows KPS to:

  • Maintain consistent quality and cost control
  • Produce a broad range of products - from whole birds to convenience items and private-label pet food
  • Maximize resource utilization, reducing waste across the chain

At Radom, over 200,000 birds are processed daily, supplying retail, food service, and pet food sectors. Each stage of production is highly interdependent underscoring the need for precision, planning, and continuous monitoring to safeguard product quality.

Training and Knowledge Transfer: Keeping Performance High

Operating complex lines efficiently requires more than technology - it requires skilled personnel. KPS leverages the Radom line as a training hub, where BAADER process specialist Carsten Johansen provides:

  • Hands-on guidance for new KPS operators
  • Performance monitoring and real-time adjustment recommendations
  • Training for new BAADER employees, ensuring both companies benefit from operational insights

“To get the most out of their BAADER equipment, customers need to operate at peak performance with their specific bird intake. High labour turnover means training must be ongoing,” explains Carsten.

When evaluating a processing site, Carsten examines carcass injuries, product quality, and downgraded items. He then traces issues upstream, revealing how seemingly minor misalignments can significantly impact yield.

“Address quality issues immediately,” Carsten advises. “Delays in intervention often cost more than you expect.”

Through his practical, data-driven approach, Carsten helps processors reduce waste, improve efÏciency, and achieve consistent product quality - turning experience into measurable business value. But even more important: he builds strong relationships with our customers.

Adding Value through Convenience Products

KPS focuses heavily on deboned meat production. Three BAADER Breast Cap Deboners 660A at Radom produce daily volumes of fillets - including single, butterfly, and tender variations - ready for retail or further processing. Wings are produced whole or segmented, targeting growth in domestic and export food service markets.

Unlocking the Pet Food Opportunity

Pet food has emerged as a significant growth sector, with global value doubling over the last decade and projected ~5% annual growth through 2030. In Europe, strict regulations govern acceptable raw materials (Category 3 under EU Regulation 1069/2009).

KPS’s integrated slaughter and processing opera-tions give it a strategic advantage:

  • High-quality raw material supply for pet food lines
  • Full utilization of carcass trimmings, necks, and viscera
  • Compliance with EU safety standards and quality expectations
Having our own raw material intake ensures a secure, compliant flow of ingredients.
Like human food, pet food is about food safety, taste, and health.
