The gentle process puts no strain on either the skin or the flesh, ensuring high-quality fillets every time.

The TRIO FDS range includes the FDS 2000-2, FDS 3000-2, FDS 35 and FDS 55. The Trio Ergolight is a semi-automatic pin bone remover, ideal for both fresh and defrosted fillets.

The TRIO Story

The Legacy of TRIO Food Processing Machinery:

Over a Century of Innovation

Founded in 1898 in the coastal city of Stavanger, Norway, TRIO Food Processing Machinery AS began its journey as a pivotal player in the burgeoning Norwegian canning industry. The company, aptly named “TRIO” derives from the three companies that merged to form a trio. As such, TRIO quickly established itself as a cornerstone of the local economy, providing essential machinery to support the preservation and export of Norway’s abundant seafood.

For much of the 20th century, TRIO remained a key innovator, developing technologies that revolutionized seafood processing. One of its most notable breakthroughs came in 1969 with the introduction of the freeze drum skinner, a game-changing invention that streamlined the skinning process and improved efficiency across the industry.

The 1980s and 1990s saw TRIO pushing boundaries in salmon processing. In 1985, the company launched a groundbreaking gutting machine for salmon, followed six years later by a salmon vaccination machine in 1991 — a testament to its adaptability and response to emerging aquaculture practices. The development of the DM Skinner in 1994 marked another milestone, enabling the precise removal of dark meat using freeze drum technology.
