A Factory Built for the Future

The choice of partner was deliberate. After looking at results from other seafood producers and meeting BAADER’s team, the decision was clear. The partnership was built not just on machines, but on shared ambition.
Collaboration that Drives Progress
From the start, both companies have treated the project as a joint effort in innovation.
“They’ve been with us all the way,” Olsen explains. “We’ve challenged each other, set high demands, and worked side by side to develop new technology. To stay ahead, that kind of collaboration is essential—both now and for the future.”
This approach has allowed First Seafood to refine every part of its process, from raw material handling to final inspection, blending experience with cutting-edge automation.
A Game-Changer in Production
The centerpiece of the new factory is the Fillet Inspector, a breakthrough system that’s changing how sorting is done.
“It took some time to get it running perfectly,” Olsen admits, “but now it’s giving us sorting possibilities no one else has achieved. The flexibility it offers is incredible—most people don’t realize how far this takes us.”
Sundnes agrees, highlighting how the system reshapes production from the ground up.
“The biggest difference between what we had before and our new setup is that the Fillet Inspector plays a central role,” he says. “We can process challenging raw materials quickly, and the machine handles sorting automatically. We started with colour grading, but now we’re exploring options for size and even skin detection.”

Trust in Every Detail
For First Seafood, technological innovation means little without dependability.
“Reliability is the most important thing for us,” Olsen stresses. “Speed and yield are important, but trust in the equipment comes first.”
That trust has only deepened as the partnership has grown.
